Für eine neue Inszenierung suchen wir Schauspieler:innen.

Retama is a theatre performance in the style of Buffoon Theatre — grotesque, physical, and poetic.
We are looking for performers for a new production.
Premiere: July 2026 in the theatre garden of Neues Schauspiel Leipzig

— Mitarbeit in einem jungen, offenen und herzlichen Team aus Theaterschaffende
— Eine Arbeitsmethode, die Techniken des Bouffon-Theaters integriert und die schauspielerische Arbeit ausgehend vom Text des Stücks „Retama“ erforscht
— Eine besondere Publikumsbegegnung: nah, immersiv und direkt
— Ein unabhängiger, kollaborativer Arbeitskontext mit begrenztem Budget, aber klaren und transparenten Bedingungen
— Ein Honorar für deine Teilnahme am Projekt

WAS DU MITBRINGST
— Ausbildung und/oder professionelle Erfahrung als Schauspieler*in, insbesondere im Bereich des körperlichen Theaters
— Erfahrung oder Ausbildung im buffonesken Theaterstil sowie das Spielen eines Musikinstruments sind von Vorteil (keine Voraussetzung)
— Offenheit für neue Formen der Interpretation und kollektiven Kreation
— Bereitschaft zu intensiver körperlicher und stimmlicher Theaterarbeit
— Verfügbarkeit im Zeitraum von Ende Februar bis Anfang Juli 2026
(Vorstellungen am 2., 3., 4. und 5. Juli 2026)
— Interesse an einer Zusammenarbeit, die über diese Produktion hinausgehen kann, einschließlich möglicher Gastspiele oder Aufführungen außerhalb der Stadt

AUDITION
Das Casting findet am 21. Februar im Neuen Schauspiel Leipzig (Lützner Str. 29) statt.
Bitte bereite einen Monolog von maximal 3 Minuten vor, den du sowohl auf Englisch als auch in deiner Muttersprache vortragen kannst.

WHAT WE OFFER

— A working method that integrates buffoon techniques and explores the performer’s work based on the text of the play “Retama”

— An independent and collaborative working environment with a limited budget but clear and transparent conditions
— A fee for your participation in the project

WHAT YOU BRING
— Training and/or professional experience as an actor, especially in physical theatre
— Experience or training in buffoon-style theatre and/or the ability to play a musical instrument is a plus (not mandatory)
— Openness to new forms of interpretation and collective creation
— Willingness to engage in intensive physical and vocal theatre work
— Availability from late February to early July 2026
(performances on July 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2026)
— Interest in a collaboration that may extend beyond this production, including possible tours or performances outside the city

AUDITION
The audition will take place on February 21st at Neues Schauspiel Leipzig (Lützner Str. 29)
Please prepare a monologue of maximum 3 minutes, to be performed both in English and in your native language.
